Over the past few years I have done a number of collaborations with dancers and gymnasts across the GTA, including this one with Mia, an incredible dancer with Dance Elite in Milton. These have been some of my favourite sessions, as it allows me to work together with my subjects to come up with fun and creative concepts in different locations across the GTA!
These dance sessions are now available for booking and would be an excellent opportunity for the dancer (or gymnast) in your family to get some beautiful dance portraits! Book a solo session or a small group session, with friends or siblings! Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details! Also, be sure to follow me on Instagram @antoniagiroux and check out #theAGDanceProject tag!
Looking for a headshot photographer? I’d love to talk to you! I have been taking headshots for actors, models, dancers, fitness coaches and corporate professionals for years, and am constantly working to bring you the BEST quality headshot (and/or portrait!)! Here’s a little bit about what happens when you book a headshot session with me!
First of all, I start off with a consultation (on the phone, or by email). I find out what my clients would like and need: the purpose of their headshots, how quickly they will need them, the style they are interested in, and where they would like to do the headshots-in studio or at an outdoor location-or both! Once the appointment is booked, I consult with my clients regarding how to prepare for the session, including hair and makeup (if necessary), skin, clothing (very important!), nails, etc…
On the day of the headshot session, I take a look at the clothing my clients have brought and we discuss the plan for the session! Some clients are a little nervous when they first arrive, especially if they have never had a photo shoot before. Trust me… this only lasts for a minute! As soon as we start taking photographs my clients learn that they can relax and feel right at home! During the photo shoot, I work with professional equipment, including full frame DSLRs, professional L-series lenses, strobes (used in combination with natural light), as well as a variety of backdrops. Yes, I have excellent equipment, but don’t ever judge a photographer by their equipment. As Ansel Adams once said, “The single most important component of a camera is the twelves inches behind it”. I work extremely hard at constantly developing my skills and ensuring I am going to deliver top quality results. I also know exactly how to work with my subjects to get the best possible results for them…through proper posing, smiles (or no smiles!), how to look at the camera to connect with the eyes, where to place the hands, paying attention to the chin, etc… Getting to this point has taken a lot of hard work: through studying the work of the masters of photography, reading, taking courses, and most of all…taking thousands (and thousands!) of photographs of clients that have helped build my skills to where they are today.
After the session, I provide my clients with their strongest 30+ proofs which are presented to them in a password protected online gallery. Often my clients do a great job at selecting their top headshots…but sometimes they need help. I consult with my clients to help them select their strongest photographs to be used in their portfolios or on their social media/websites, ensuring they have a variety of looks and styles. If clients are applying to a talent agency, I like to know which agency it is, as some have specific headshot requirements.
Finally, a thorough edit takes place. I work extremely hard at my retouching skills with Adobe Photoshop to bring you a beautiful, natural edit that doesn’t scream Photoshop! (A common mistake to make while editing is to OVER SOFTEN the skin by being too heavy handed at techniques such as frequency separation, or by using a one size fits all filter, which gets rid of all definition in the skin, including the pores, and gives it an unnatural glowing effect. I edit the skin in a way that gets rid of blemishes and uneven skin tone, reduces the appearance of wrinkles (if necessary), enhances colours, but still makes the person look like themselves. Photos are delivered to clients via download on a password protected site, where they may share them with talent agencies.
There is so much that goes into a great headshot session! I’m very proud to say that my clients have used their headshots when applying to talent agencies all across the GTA… This is very important, because nobody wants to waste their time and money in a headshot session, only to find out the photographer didn’t have the skills necessary to produce a quality headshot that would be accepted by agencies.

Recently I have done several collaborations with a wonderful makeup artist/hair stylist from Milton-“Arisel Beauty”. These sessions are so much fun, as they allow us to get really creative with hair, makeup, posing, clothing, etc! Here are a few shots of Kristin!

Meet the new Mr. and Mrs. Taylor! Brad and Danielle tied the knot during a beautiful ceremony held yesterday, August 26, 2017, in Mississauga, Ontario. They exchanged vows in the backyard of Brad’s grandparents…an absolutely lovely setting that was just perfect for the occasion! It was a gorgeous afternoon, and I loved witnessing the strong family bonds and the closest of friends who were all there to celebrate with the newly weds!
Brad and Danielle, thank you for asking me to document this special day for you!
The best thing about being a headshot photographer is getting to meet some pretty awesome people and working one on one with them! When I met this young actor, I knew she would have no problems at all in front of the camera. She was absolutely charming, and had the bluest eyes that literally lit up for the camera! We took a number of photos, using several different backdrops, studio and natural lighting, and had multiple clothing changes. This is important in order to provide the agencies with a variety of looks (that don’t look like they were all taken within 30-60 minutes!)
For anyone looking at getting headshots taken (corporate, modelling, acting, or “just because”), my sessions start at $175 for a 30 minute session (including your favourite 5 digital files), and $275 for a 60 minute session (including your favourite 10 digital files). Makeup application is also available for an additional fee.
Please contact me for more information at email@example.com! I’d love to work with you!
Meet Ella. Ella is an avid competitive dancer, actress and model from Southern Ontario who came to see me for an outdoor portrait session. Her goal was to get some great headshots, portraits and dance shots for her portfolio. We found a quaint little spot with some gorgeous natural backdrops, and managed to get quite a variety of photographs in roughly an hour! I absolutely loved working with Ella! If you wish, you can follow her Instagram page @ellaonpointe.
If you are interested in having your own dance portrait session (or of course model/actor portfolio session), I’d love to work with you! My absolute favourite is doing on location shoots…so make sure you book before the cold weather comes!
Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram for frequent posts! 🙂 For more information on my rates and availability, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
