This has been a busy year for head shots, with more and more people looking for a professional image for their online presence-LinkedIn, Facebook, Houzz, corporate websites, etc. It certainly does make such a difference when you have a good solid profile pic for your business needs…and something that is unique to you!

I really enjoyed photographing this amazing woman, Amy Lin. Her list of accomplishments is quite spectacular. Mathematician, math educator, author, frequent keynote speaker, TEDxTalks speaker, violinist, PhD candidate…the list goes on! Periodically, I like to feature some of my headshot sessions on my blog, as I think it’s important to see the results you can get when you spend 30-60 minutes with a photographer who is looking out for just one person at a time…YOU!

This (gorgeous) woman, Dr. Andrea Tricco, booked a headshot session with me this summer because she required several different shots of herself…for LinkedIn, for St. Michael’s Hospital where she works as a scientist, and for U of T where she is an associate prof. Not only that…but her work is also frequently published (often along with a headshot) in places such as the Canadian Medical Association Journal, CBC News, and the Toronto Star. So…as you can understand she wanted to have some nice head shots with a little variety!

Interior Design Photography| Toronto Milton Oakville Mississauga

Let me start off this post by saying that Shannon Soro of Shannon Soro Interior Design (formerly Moving Designs) is an interior designer extraordinaire! I got to spend the entire day with her a few weeks ago, going from one home to another and getting to photograph her incredible designs. What impressed me the most was how unique each home was…custom designed with each of her clients in mind. Nothing was duplicated. Everything was perfect and absolutely refreshing, with the most meticulous attention to detail I have ever seen. It was the type of work that you would see in upscale interior design magazines, and at the same time they were places that you would absolutely want to call home. I recently had the opportunity to photograph an amazing young man who will soon be graduating from university and therefore was in need of some head shots as well as some action shots of him playing the guitar (what a musician he is!) for an upcoming album. We combined some documentary-style shots, studio photography and on-location photography… Here are some of the results!

I recently had the opportunity to photograph one of my amazing Pilates instructors at Knead to Balance Massage & Pilates in Milton…and I knew she was going to be an incredible subject. [FIT] does not even begin to describe this woman who really lives and breathes Pilates as well as TRX. I have learned so much from her, and have so much fun with her every class, and one day HOPE to be able to do just a fraction of what she can do!

I was recently hired to photograph a contracting company, Innovative Interiors, while they were “on the job”. They wanted to have some photographs taken in order to use on their website as well as on social media sites. Connections with people are so important, and if you have a website that shows who you are, and the type of work that you do, it gives potential clients the feeling of familiarity with you and confidence in your work before they hire you!

So up to Newmarket, Ontario, I went to photograph Kevin Kubinowa and his team at Innovative Interiors Contracting. What a fantastic group of guys, who were masters in their fields and who who took pride in their work.
